How to migrate to Hong Kong

How to migrate to Hong Kong

If you have your visa approved, and you have made your mind up to move – at least in the short term – you may well be wondering now how to migrate to Hong Kong.

Depending on how long you plan on staying, the packing will either need to be comprehensive or just sufficient to get you through in reasonable comfort until it's time to return home.

Migrate to Hong Kong :

In the midst of all your questions about how to migrate to Hong Kong, you may be wondering how difficult it will be to settle down. Although Hong Kong is an Asian country it has had so many western influences, especially with British rule until 1997. This means it offers a unique fusion of east meets west, truly the best of both worlds!

Some items such as furniture can be purchased ridiculously cheaply in Hong Kong, with custom-made models available widely for a very economical price. The price of replacing all your furniture with new models is likely to be far cheaper – and less hassle too! - than the price of shipping everything out. If you were wondering how to migrate to Hong Kong, not having to worry about your furniture can be a major relief

Hong Kong Immigration Requirements :

Not everything is as cheap in Hong Kong and it's a good idea to acquaint yourself with what the potential costs will be before you arrive, to prevent a nasty shock. Because Hong Kong is so densely populated, accommodation is in high demand and consequently the price is sky high even for relatively modest premises. You will have to consider if you want to live in an ex-pat community or mingle more freely with the locals. Bear in mind that traditional Hong Kong apartments and dwellings will not have an oven, so you might find it easier to opt for a more western design.

Before migrating to Hong Kong, if you can negotiate a remuneration package which includes accommodation you might find this preferable than being tied into a contract and handing over the cash to your landlord directly.

Despite some extremely high living costs, gross salaries are not particularly high in Hong Kong. But this is compensated for because taxation in Hong Kong is very low, one of the more significant attractions! And the excellent news is that with many other Asian countries vying for the best of the market, there is an almost unparalleled number of jobs available for overseas workers.
