To obtain full citizenship an adult applicant must have already lived in Canada for a minimum of 1095 days before applying for permanent residency. Lying on forms about this will get you in trouble with the law. Recently the government has greatly cracked down on suspicious applicants, revoking 3000 permits in the last 2 years who were suspected of lying on their application forms.
You must be proficient in one of the official Canadian languages, either English or French, send proof of your knowledge of these with your applications. During your residency test you will have to prove your ability to read, write and speak English or French to a high level.
Take all documents with you to the test as evidence to convince officials of your time spent living in Canada, documents relating to employment or study, bills, rent statements etc.
The application process can take up to 24 months to come so be prepared for a long and patient wait.
If you are successful and obtain a Permanent Resident Card you must keep it upon your person at all times when travelling outside of Canada, or in and out on commercial flights. It contains state of the art security features making it fool resistant against forgery or alterations.
So why not look for your new life in Canada today – contact MoreVisas for more information. You must take the tests seriously, in 2010 Canada changed the citizen test to a much stricter level, which now requires a higher score - You now need to answer correctly 15 questions instead of the previous 12. The questions on things such as Canadian history are much more challenging. And the government’s detailed questions will be constantly testing your verbal ability during all sectors of the examination.
