Australian Visa

Australian Visa
Gaining an Australian Visa is more popular than ever before and official statistics show a year on year increase in the number of applicants.

Eligibility for Australian Visa

Thanks to an online processing facility which helps to flag up individuals who may not be eligible to proceed, getting an Australian Visa has never been easier either.
Individuals from countries all over the world flock to Australia for a number of different reasons, not just for a holiday on those famous sandy beaches. Temporary work, gaining a qualification, studying in a particular area of expertise, moving to be with close family and friends or simply relocating with your employer are all some of the most common reasons individuals apply for an Australian Visa.

Australian Visa types

Whilst it's possible to put together a top ten list of countries where an Australian Visa is the most often requested, it could be misleading as the reasons for traveling vary significantly between locations.

For example, the number of individuals seeking an Australian Visa under the Family Stream is the highest in China compared to any other country. The UK, India, the Philippines and Vietnam make up the rest of the five countries with the highest number of Australian Visa entrants under the Family Stream.

However, if you take a look at a very different type of Australian Visa, the Business (Long Stay) for example, the top five countries only bear a passing resemblance. The UK ranks the highest for a Business (Long Stay) Australian Visa whilst India, Ireland, the Philippines (again) and the US make up the rest of the top five.

The UK features high in almost every type of Australian Visa, making it into the top two on all types bar one: the student visa. The top five countries who entered under the Student Australian Visa in 2011/2012 were China, India, the Republic of Korea, Brazil and Malaysia. The UK didn't even register in the top 20 countries in this category.

The Philippines are another nation who figure strongly in many other categories, particularly those which are employment-related, but only squeaked in at 16th place for student migrants.

According to the official stats, the UK provided the most visitors to Australia during 2011/2012 but China, US, Japan and Malaysia were also in the top five.

The countries which were most strongly represented in Australia during this same period were the UK, New Zealand, China, India and Vietnam.
