Australia - Where Nature Makes You Drop Your Jaw

Australia-Where-Nature-Makes-You-Drop-Your-Jaw
If you love nature and you are looking for an adventurous getaway, Australia is the place to go. You will be in awe of such natural beauty. It is a land of the rarest, most deadly yet the most stunning creatures you would have ever come across.

Here are five places you must visit if you are vacationing in Australia.

1. Great Barrier Reef

25 million years ago the Great Barrier Reef was born. The world’s largest reef spread over 3,000 kilometers off the Queensland is the only living thing on Earth that is visible from space. This coast is the home 400 varieties of coral and 1,500 breeds of tropical fish.

2. Uluru or Ayers Rock

The sandstone monolith, sacred to the aboriginal tribe of Anangu, the Ayers Rock is 348 meters in height and 9.4 kilometers in circumference. Found in Central Australia, the shades on this monolith change with time. It is breathtaking at sunrise and sunset, especially.

3. Shark Bay

Shark Bay is the home of 10,000 dugongs or sea-cows, dolphins, shark and rays as well as the world’s most diverse sea grass. A coastline of rocky limestone, white sand dunes and cliffs, this W-shaped bay is 1,500 kilometers long. Shark bay is located in Western Australia.

4. The Pinnacles

Limestone formations created 30,000 years ago by the receding ocean which left deposits of seashells on shore are known as The Pinnacles.  Several meters high, these formations are found in the Nambung National Park, which house grey kangaroos, reptiles and emus.

5. Twelve Apostles

Off the Victorian coast, the Twelve Apostles are limestone stacks created by erosion. The Antarctic eroded the limestone which changed caves into cliffs, cliffs into arches and finally leaving these around 50 meter high rock stacks. The Twelve Apostles strangely were only nine when they got their name. After a recent fall only eight are left.

To see this splendor of nature, you need to travel to Australia on a Visitor Visa (subclass 600). It permits you to stay for three, six or 12 months. All you require is a valid passport, proof of funds, hotel reservation or stay information, return tickets and travel insurance.
