Australia-Refugee Visa

There are numerous visa options available for a person or family who aspire to live, work or holiday in Australia. One of the visa selections is the refugee visa. To be eligible for the refugee visa an applicant must comply with certain requirements. If you are living somewhere outside of the Australian boarders, not living in your own country and can not return to your own country due to likelihood of facing persecution then the chances are there is a high possibility that you might be a suitable candidate for the refugee visa. If an applicant is granted a refugee visa they will be allowed to stay indefinitely in Australia and have the opportunity to sponsor their family members who if accepted will also be given permission to live as permanent residents. In order for an individual to be contemplated given resettlement in Australia they would ordinarily have to be referred from the UNHCR (united nations high commissioner for refugees) to the government of Australia.

A successful refugee visa grants permission for the applicant to live and work permanently in Australia, attend English lessons to improve their communication skills, access social security payments and register for health and medical care and expenses. The applicant can instantly apply for permanent residency to be granted to close family members and after living for four consecutive years in Australia the applicant can apply for Australian citizenship. All required documents should be included when making the initial application, the applicant will need copies of all original documentation certified by a professional. The credentials required to make an application are character references for all included on the forms, birth or adoption certificates, authentic relationship documents and copies of resident permits or visas which must be certified.

The applicant is also required to produce certified identification documents such as the biographical pages from valid passports of each person on the application, evidence of any name changes which have occurred and confirmation of refugee status. Proof of refugee status can be in the of a letter stating the reason for which the applicant left their country and why they can not return, a referral from the UNHCR with a copy of the resettlement registration form or affirmation of registration from an international organisation who takes care of refugees. Once confirmation is given for resettlement the applicant is compelled to arrive in Australia no later the date which is detailed on the visa. The applicant and anybody accompanying them must adhere to all conditions stated and respect the Australian laws.
